Maintaining a level of creativity to please all fans is difficult for any band, and no different to the Finns Children Of Bodom, who, with six studio albums, not counting the version Skeletons In The Closet , have enough samples of high quality moving from death metal melodic and solvency enough power to win a good number "addicted" your proposal.
With his seventh album, Relentless , Reckless Forever , two things happen on the one hand continue to maintain the characteristic elements of their sound but on the other hand, we also note a gradual Schema evolution towards less endowed with speed. Consequently, depending on the subjective tastes of everyone, like more or less.
One thing is certain, the album exudes maturity and contains a handful of versatile compositions that will dazzle those who are not "highly placed" in his discography. Another issue is what I think most ardent fans.
What is certain is that Children Of Bodom without losing their identity, they seek less radical approach profiles and thus fit into a more harmonious environment, say closer to the parameters of heavy metal . This does not mean we have lost power. His songs still appear destabilizing and built based on passages equipped with constantly changing structures, as we demonstrated in the first two and awesome tracks, "Not My Funeral" and "Shovel Knockout" , binding with its past more explosive.
Once the well known feats exhibited virulent deep into textures available with an abundance of keyboards and instrumental developments related to the aforementioned heavy metal. They are there to witness it, "Roundtrip To Hell And Back" and dense rhythm and marking; "Pussyfoot Miss Suicide" a guitar phrasing "resultón" , like the one in "Relentless, Reckless Forever " with a lively duel between guitars and keyboards, plus " Ugly " something faster and " Cry Of The Nihilist " and "Was It Worth It? , which reiterates the guitar riffs of heavy roots.
"Northpole Throwdown" , put the final point with a return to more disturbing concepts, speed and dynamic guitar frenzy.
As Alexi Laiho is shown in his work voice brimming with torn and disturbing that point that fits perfectly.
In short, an attractive hard if we stick to this for Children Of Bodom and stop thinking about his past undoubtedly brilliant. But as it stands now also has excellent credentials.
